Färgfabrikens marknad, nya smycken, smidesguiden, sandgjutningskurser - Emmeli Holm Metallformgivning

Färgfabrikens market, new jewelry, blacksmithing guide, sand casting courses

On March 22-23, I will be at Färgfabriken's market with a lot of new jewelry that I have been working on. I and around 120 other vendors will be on site in Färgfabriken's main hall, penthouse, Smedjan and in the courtyard. Färgfabriken also promises food and drinks, live music, DJs and a nice hangout. The market is open between 11 am and 5 pm, and admission costs 60 SEK. Read more on Färgfabriken's website .

It's going to be super fun, and I hope to see you there! I've got a spot on the penthouse, so be sure to stop by!

New spring jewelry

Recently I have been working on new jewelry where I have returned to working with tubes, gemstones and techniques such as cast-in-stone and sand casting. I love the contrast between the organic, almost raw shapes of sand casting and the clean lines of the artisanally processed silver. The clear, bright tones of the metal meet the vibrant colors of the gemstones and create jewelry that feels both timeless and vibrant – just like spring itself. Perfect to wear when the days get brighter and nature comes to life! I will be taking this jewelry with me to Färgfabriken's market, and it will eventually also appear on the website. So stay tuned! Here you can get a little sneak peek.

Learn more about silversmithing with the blacksmithing guide

I have written two articles and published them under a new tab on the website that I call the Smithing Guide . Here I write about how I have reworked old jewelry into new ones , what my best hand tools as a goldsmith and silversmith are, and a guide to files, sanding and saw blades in jewelry making .

It would be great to hear what you think of the guides! Feel free to leave a comment or get in touch if there is anything special about silversmithing that you would like to know more about!

Take a sand casting course

I make my jewelry at Smedjan Blackeberg. If you or someone you know is interested in silversmithing, we also hold several different courses for both adults and children. Several of my jewelry are sand cast, and in our sand casting course you can learn how to create your own jewelry or other things with molten silver.

Emmeli Holm in Smedjan Blackeberg as a sand caster

Sand casting is an ancient and fun technique where you create a mold, fill it with molten silver, and watch it transform into a silver object! It's a magical experience to melt metal, pour it in, and then watch it take the shape of the impression in the sand.
